Video tours are an invaluable way to show prospective tenants your property, without the requirement for a physical viewing.
They have become popular during the Coronavirus pandemic, but are likely to continue to be popular with tenants forever after.
How to create the video tour
You can create a video tour quickly and easily with a smart phone or tablet.
To start, make sure the rooms are tidy – they don’t have to be spotlessly clean, but clear away (or just hide!) the clutter and washing etc.
Before recording, consider the most logical walk-around of your property, starting at the front door and working your way through the rooms.
Open all of the doors so that you can easily glide around, keeping your hand as steady as possible and slowly panning around each room in turn.
How to upload the video
Go to your chosen video hosting site. Youtube and Vimeo are the most popular free video hosting sites, and both have simple upload facilities
In the top right had corner, click on the create/upload/new video icon.
Youtube’s looks like this: , and Vimeo’s looks like this:
You can either upload the video to the site or drag & drop the video file.
Give your advert a meaningful but short title and description, for example, Title: “Cleveland Way Video Tour”, Description: “Fantastic two bedroom semi-detached house to let in the popular Great Ashby area of Stevenage”.
Set the privacy settings to “public” and publish the advert.
If you don’t speak during the tour, you can add a backing track to the video via the editor feature. You’ll also be able to make other edits to the video via the editor if you need to.
Once you have published the advert, you’ll get a weblink which goes straight to your video. Simply email us the weblink, or upload it with your advert, and we’ll include it in your advertising.
