According to statistics from Templeton LPA, part of LSL, severe rent arrears have fallen by 35% in the last 12 months.
In 2012, the number of tenants in serious arrears peaked at over 116,000, compared to just 68,000 now.
The number of landlords in mortgage arrears is also at it’s lowest level since 2008, with the number of court orders for evictions also down.
The number of tenants who owe more than two month’s rent has also dropped, currently at 1.4% of all tenancies compared to 2.3% a year ago.
